Short Job DescriptionReporting directly to the SVP Global Finance, and based in Madrid, Spain, the Global Financial Controller will drive the automation of the Finance and Administration area. The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing a team, strong analytical skills, and experience in ERP development and implementation.Global Financial Controller will supervise and coordinate the financial management of multiple countries, consolidating accounting and tax information through the control of local processes and the implementation of global policies, in order to ensure transparency, efficiency, and compliance with Taptap’s financial objectives.
What you will doFinancial Accounting & Close- Lead and coordinate month-end and year-end closings across business units within scope, ensuring accuracy and strong financial analysis.
- Oversee general ledger integrity, reconciliations, and consolidation of financial information.
- Manage intercompany processes, ensuring accurate tracking, reconciliation, and eliminations for consolidation.
Accounts Payable & Receivable- Supervise billing, revenue reconciliation, and accounts receivable processes.
- Ensure proper validation and reconciliation of supplier invoices and purchase processes.
Treasury & Cash Management- Coordinate payments and collections across multiple markets, including intercompany flows.
- Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts.
Financial Reporting & Control- Deliver financial reporting and ad hoc analysis to HQ and senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with KPIs, accounting deadlines, and internal controls across subsidiaries.
- Oversee financial systems implementation and optimization (NetSuite or similar ERP).
- Analyze FX impact and drive improvements in financial processes and margin control.
Tax & Audit- Ensure compliance with local tax, legal, and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of information.
Team Leadership & Business Support- Lead and develop the accounting team within scope, ensuring performance, quality, and deadlines are met.
- Act as a financial partner to commercial, operations, and HR teams.
- Identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement across financial processes.
Requirements of the role:- Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics. A master’s degree will be a plus.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in Financial/Accounting/Controlling roles with at least 3 years in regional or multi-country positions managing teams.
- ORACLE NetSuite knowledge is a must.
- Experience with SAP very desirable as well.
- Advanced Level of English (C1) is a must.
- Experience in financial statement consolidation, financial planning and auditing.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in fast growth tech companies will be extremely valued.
- Overseas experience would be an important asset.
- Experience in the digital advertising industry will be a plus.
- Strong knowledge of financial processes & understanding of control requirement.
- Proven ability to understand/ learn business issues and reconcile with the needs of standardization and effectiveness.
- Project management experience, focus in ERP and company systems improvement. High IT skills.
- Ability to work independently with low supervision, while demonstrating initiative and good judgment.
- Well-developed interpersonal and teamwork skills are critical. Ability to network and develop relationships. Unquestionable integrity and trust.
- Have a methodical and organized approach, have a keen attention to detail, in a self-sufficient approach.
